CRL Tremco® DyMonic® FC is a fast skinning, high performance, low modulus, one-component, moisture curing, polyurethane sealant. DyMonic® FC features a smooth, consistent surface when cured. It requires no priming when used on most common substrates, provided surfaces are dry, clean, and free from contaminants. It is supplied in a non-sag consistency which will gun easily with conventional caulking equipment. Because it skins in only one hour at 70°F (21°C) there is less dirt pick up compared to other polyurethane sealants. Regular DyMonic® typical skin time is 16 hours at 70°F (21°C).
Basic Uses
DyMonic® FC can be used to seal dynamic moving joints in precast concrete panels, curtainwall, and tilt-up panels. Also for expansion and control joints, perimeter caulking of windows and doors, bedding of mullions, frames, and panels. It develops a strong adhesive bond that will not deteriorate, and exhibits excellent weather resistance. Its balance of properties (high strength, low modulus, high recovery) makes it able to withstand moisture, shear, and deflection movement. Dymonic® FC exhibits a tenacious adhesion which will not diminish over product life.
Technical Data
Meets U.S. Federal Specification TT-S-00230C, Type II, Class A; Canadian standard CAN/CGSB-19.13-M87; and ASTM C 920, Type S, Grade NS, Class 50 (DyMonic® FC) Class 25 (DyMonic®), Use NT, M, A and O.
Limitations
Do not apply to damp or contaminated surfaces. Some substrates may require priming, such as certain high performance paints and architectural finishes. Painting over DyMonic is not a recommended practice since paint may crack and peel when joint movement occurs. Check cartridge label and Specification Data Sheet for additional limitations.
