The CRL Cap Rail Illumination System is designed to produce 0.2 FC (Foot Candle) illumination required by the (NFPA) Life Safety Code at 38 inches (965 millimeters) above the stair nosing. This can provide a lighted egress path for safe exiting from low illuminated areas.
The 60-degree beam pattern provides adequate illumination in either warm or cool white. Also available for mood lighting are red, green, blue, and amber colors, but these will have to be individually checked for compliance to the Life Safety Code (See Photometrics and Specifications at dkhardware.com).
You can create individual runs of up to 25 feet (7.62 meters), and split home runs of up to 100 feet (30.48 meters). LED's are mounted on a current-controlled driver board which is housed in a 3/4 inch (19 millimeter) wide black PVC housing with clear PVC lens.
NOTE: Increased illumination LED's are available for other code requirements that specify higher illumination values. Contact DK Hardware Sales for more information.
