EURTV408 Industrial and Construction Silicone is versatile one component silicone sealant for sealing building joints and glazing systems. This product is non-acetoxy! After application the silicone cures with atmospheric moisture to form a durable rubber seal. EURTV408 features primerless adhesion to glass, glazed surfaces, aluminium and many other metals, un-plasticized plastics like polycarbonates (Lexan® and Makrolon®), polyester, rigid polystyrene, ABS, and most PVC and painted wood, concrete and brickwork. Recommended for use with PVB Film (please refer to application guidelines). Not PVB-A (Acoustic) Film compatible.
BASIC USES: Its fast cure time and easy tooling make it ideal for many in-house production applications. It is non-corrosive to most building materials such as glass (including insulating glass), tile, and sanitary equipment. It seals curtainwall joints, vinyl, steel and aluminium windows, and skylights. It is also used in vehicles, ships, aircraft, as well as for electrical insulation. This silicone does not cause corrosion in contact with metals. It is suitable for alkaline materials such as mortar and cement, and other applications where metal corrosion could be a problem. EURTV408 stays flexible and is resistant to cracking or becoming brittle in a wide range of temperatures approximately -54° to 204°C (-65° to 400°F) . It can be applied at outdoor temperatures as low as -29°C (-20°F), provided that surfaces are clean, dry and frost-free, or on surfaces as high as 38°C (100°F). EURTV408W and EURTV408T contain a fungicide, and the cured sealant is mildew resistant.
All CRL Silicone Sealant cartridges are packed with innovative Screw-On Nozzles, offering you a greater yield per cartridge. They are 102 mm long, and tapered so you can trim the nozzle to exactly the bead size you need. To order additional nozzles, specify Cat. No. S1LN0Z.
LIMITATIONS: Not recommended for concrete, stone expansion joints; horizontal decks, patios, driveway or terrace joints where abrasion or physical abuse is encountered; interior or exterior structural sealing below the waterline in marine applications; structural glazing; food contact or potable water applications; mirrors. For sealing submerged joints, particularly where porous surfaces permit water infiltration to the bond surface we recommend the use of a suitable primer. Check cartridge label and Specification Data Sheet for additional limitations. It is the user's responsibility to determine the suitability of use and we would recommend an adhesion test prior to application.
Packaging: 12 - 300 ml cartridges packed per case. Important Notes: Not recommended for Aquaria, PMMA, PE, PP, bituminous surfaces and wax or paraffin containing surfaces. Application in poorly ventilated areas which are not exposed to UV light may lead to yellowing this can also occur when in contact with chemical fumes as surfactants, especially during curing.
