The CRL Duralite"® Heat Press speeds insulating glass production by means of a set of large platens that quickly heats and compresses multiple units to the exact width required. Assembled Duralite"® insulating glass units are placed between the platens of the press. A roller bed inside the press allows for smooth insertion and removal of units. Next, a pneumatic control valve is actuated to start the compression. After about 3 minutes under heated compression, switch the control valve to release the pressure plates, open the oven to remove the unit(s).
Next, gas fill the units if desired, then close the spacer in the last corner to create the final hermetic seal. The SSP2000AU press area is 60 x 84 inches (1524 x 2133 millimeters). The machine has doors on both sides to allow multiple pressing of larger units, up to 120 x 84 inches (3048 x 2133 millimeters) in size. Smaller size multiple units can be pressed together. Delivery requires a forklift and/or loading dock. All units are F.O.B. Topeka, Kansas.
