The company now known as Crown Verity began in 1892, in Exeter, Canada, as W.H. Verity & Son, a manufacturer of plows and agricultural equipment. Even before the turn of the century, Verity products were renowned for product quality and unbeatable customer service. By 1897, Verity Plow Co. had 700 employees. In 1910, Crown Electrical Manufacturing Company became the first company in Canada to produce lighting fixtures, lamps, and fireplaces. Their reputation for workmanship and quality persisted. By 1951, Crown Electrical began to specialize in commercial restaurant supplies.
